Vans and Record Store Day partnered together to create “Portraits of Her.” A collaborative effort that honors and uplifts women in the music industry.

Featuring a video series and a zine that highlight the unique experiences women face while working in music. As well as a limited-edition
vinyl album with tracks donated by groundbreaking female artists for sale to help benefit “We Are Moving The Needle.”

Each episode of our series features two women from completely different fields, that meet for the first time to share their stories.
We put the camera in their hands and pieced together their self-captured one-on-one moments discussing their inspirations, hardships, accomplishments and hopes for the future of music.

Over 82% of this project was created by Women.

We worked with the artist Jordi Ng to design a limited edition zine that highlights the artists featured in the album and gives them a space to share their experiences of being a Woman in the music industry.

We also hosted a Record Fair at House of Vans Chicago, with performances of K.Flay and Boyish + a DJ Set with Laura Jane Grace.

And lastly, our compilation record reached number 3 on the Billboard Chart for Compilation releases. Pretty cool.
